Pope Benedict XVI's Christmas Day message from Rome.

Pope Benedict XVI delivered his ''Urbi et Orbi'' message
(Latin for ''to the city and to the world'') from the loggia
of the St. Peter's Basilica (Rome) at the Vatican, Sunday.

In his Christmas Day message on Sunday - Pope Benedict
proclaimed prayer and asked for a unity against those that
unleash terror on the rest of humanity. The Pope called on
the world to renew their efforts toward humanitarian crises
and others to join the vast need to house and shelter millions
all around this globe. Further - reminding us all that poverty
continues to afflict so many around the world. With a prayer.

Virginia court short-cuts the attorney general recount

Giving visions of elections past, the Virginia three-judge
panel would not allow a full state-wide recounting of the
votes in their closely contested State Attorney General's
election. Even after a big margin for the Governors race.

It contrast the Virginia court even used a recount method
similar to that standard imposed during the 2000 election
for president. Where the state of Florida only allowed the
limited recounting of ballots instead of a state-wide count.

Virginia's court sided with the republican candidate holding
who, similarly as in 2000, held only the slightest count lead.

Later review of the Florida method revealed a count reversal
error in number of votes, or methods, used to determine that
race. A factor that would have likely reversed that win count.

As in Florida, Virginia's three-judge panel assumed that most
of the state's votes had been cast and counted correctly and as
such only recounted some precinct totals or the same numbers
that had been presently used to get to the point of such recount.

So, instead, the court found in favor of the Republican side in
the recount hearing and even determined where and what the
recount would actually, physically, recount. Which it in itself
produced a different total, or end result, than before the count
had ended on election night and the next morning. Giving yet
evidence, or pause that something was clearly afoot, or wrong
in the first place, or same numbers would have been produced.

Nonetheless, or in spite of, it was decreed as valid and as final.
Interesting that Virginia's ballots do not allow, or note, a party
affiliation beside the candidate's name. GOP could have lost 3
offices instead of just one. Noting the closeness of many races.

Bush: President, then lawyer, judge, jury, and undertaker?

Even before September 11th, 2001 it didn't always appear
that this White House was on the same page, security wise
as the rest of the nation. No it appeared that they were in a
more aggressive posture. Going from nation to nation and
letting them know who was in charge and which treaty we
no longer enforced, or worse - was no longer a member of.

Yes, it was obvious to even independent supporters that it
was an administration hell-bent for leather and a timely hit
at their chip-on-the-shoulder may not be long in appearing.

Which, by the way, soon was denoted by this President's
daily briefing of August 6th, 2001. Most people still like
to compare everything as just a compete surprise. But it
now appears, in retrospection, that this group of political
ponies plan everything down to the last minor detail. So
how could such a group with all of this talent & training
have someone walk through each and every level of US
defenses? As it has been officially reported to have been
the case on 9/11. Had to believe right? Too good to be a
truism, maybe? What do “they” say, if it's too good to be
true, then it probably ain't. Additionally, & since nothing
is free – who really paid the expense tab - for all of those
trainers? Where's the review pending of that secret DOD
group that tracked the alleged hijackers. Who - OKed it?

The same group of stealth leader planners that knew of
the non-exist weapons of mass-destruction? Who then?

Who knows anything these days, other that what a media
big wants you to learn. Signed, sealed and paid for in "full"
by the lawyer, judge, jury, undertaker, or a cabinet maker
that may not like reading all of the directions? Or - worse,
one who can't be made to color a page - inside of the lines.

refugee advocate Angelina Jolie appealed Friday during a
press conference in Islamabad, Pakistan - requesting swift
delivery of promised aid to Pakistan. Jolie added that now
a new disaster threatens earthquake survivors when harsh
winter conditions settle on the devastated mountain areas.

According to international press reports, "You watch TV
and you see the pictures, but nobody sitting at home has
any idea what this really looks like," Jolie said. "It's just
unbelievable. You fly in...and...see ... house after house
...just rubble, nothing standing." From sea to shining sea.

Well, I'm “nobody” and I'm sitting at home. Someone's
home, so to speak - not my own. Sometime I still get to
watch the TV – more often – when available on the net.

As a result, I know what it's like to lose one's home and
a lifetime's worth of personal property. You won't see a
view like mine, or thousands of others, all this country or
as in other countries. Name the location, pick the disaster.

Pick the network, change the channel. Date the calenders.

As “nobody” it would just be nice to see anybody keep any
promise, about anything. If certain people hadn't been hell
bent-to-leather on blowing all of the United States surplus,
look at the actual-cash flow, that could helped everywhere.

Then the rest of the world could have then kept for better
use, all of the money-capital being loaned to the the U.S.,
now through this current administration, for one treasury.

Which, in-fact since 2000, requires the never ending use
of foreign loans and/or monies now that could be provide
for better use, in the form of swift & timely disaster relief.

acting director, R. David Paulison, has told the Houston
housing officials. City financial - woes and depletion of a
resource fund for helping hurricane victims appears as a
problem now. Many FEMA vouchers appear pretty much
worthless because they don't cover the full amount of the
rent, recent news information report from Texas reveals.

Wonder if FEMA could go over to the Department of [no]
Defense, or that Pentagon, and give a short lecture on not
allowing inflated-contract-costs, so called, price-gouging?

Maybe then some of those savings could be redirected to
shortages in other departments & just about eliminate any
need to give petty-political tax-cuts to those poor-richers'.

Everything's bigger in Texas, guess that means problems
as well. The city of Houston says it will not - pay any rent
for people in apartments that cost more than -FEMA will
subsidize. Reported through-out the news by a Mr. John
Walsh, deputy chief of staff to Houston's mayor - Mr. Bill
White. Further it reported claims that Houston has issued
vouchers for long-term housing to about --18,000 – some
as the estimated 40,000 families - who will need it by this
year's end. However, the city now anticipates that another
14,000 evacuees soon will move out of hotels. Noting that
Houston has received $37.2 million from -FEMA to repay
initial housing costs for evacuees, and it expects to get an
additional $101 million - expenses through Jan. 31, 2005.

payments above the voucher levels. Hard countin' money.

Well the devil stole a car in Memphis. In just
sixty-seconds he was on the highway headed
for Texas. Seems he was in need of a certain
soul to steal. Not just any, but a conservative
one. But the devil was confident as a 'history
since he was free to do this on other missions.

But as fate would have it, he ran out of gas just
outside a little town in Waco, RFD'd Crawford.
Only one light was home, so he took to that as
the place. Upon that door he did knock, knock.

By appearance, the face that came to the door
that night was tired and tipsy. Too much 'ale.
Little did he glean, too much fire and hell as
well awaited the fateful answering nightmare.

Hey, he said, “come on in” unknowingly he
slurred to the devil, I got a couple of drinks
left. So you're just in time to join me. Well,
the devil being an impatient fellow went at
the point. You see my...I'm down the road,
mile or so, and I've ran out of gas. So I'm in

To wit the appearance laughed, fill-up your
tank for a dollar? You-bet, I'll wager you a
dollar. Appearance flipped out him a dollar

me? Oh, said the devil, let's just check and

Just think of the courage it must have taken back in
2000, waiting for Scalia to cast that 5-vote decision.
Conflict-of-interest, HELL, Cheney's just my friend.
Imagine, just sitting on vacation, wishing 4-Sept-11.

Yes, it's a tuff-job, that's why Bush gets paid, 2-times.
If they don't like you as President, then make them an
offer that they can't refuse, as "Commander-In-Chief".

2008: Time for Direct Elections to be Held in United States.

Since the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776,
America has not really had a free & fair democratic election.

In particular, presidential and vice-presidential ones. This isn't
to say, or imply, that American's aren't free, or democratically.

It is, however, an analysis that elections held under a code of
an electoral-college styled-method of second-votes, isn't any
way, shape, or form -- a democratic method of direct election.

And it has been that way for 228 years now. American's are
now ready, after all those years of electoral-college-review,
to step-out into the voting arena & cast a ballot for a directly
elected president and/or vice-president of just their choosing.

And this would only be, or become, problematic to those now
in office otherwise - or may now have conflict-of-interests for.

If America is now to be the democratic model for freedom,
liberty and elections -- then it needs to start here with the
office of the president and congress. And maybe a judicial.

This would mean easier access to voting for all citizens. As
naturalized, or a natural born. How about even our capital?

All elections would thus become under federal regulation as
a right, that would be under state mandated laws of equality.

All votes would have a legal, as mandated, method of recount
both in the original method(s) and/or -- especially by a paper.

Differences in accounting of voting tallies, or totals, would be
subject to automatic recounts and/or the actual count verified.

Voter ID's would become necessary, or required, but with even
a library-card able to be used by individuals that be as subject.

When, or if, a felon removes any voting right at the end of the
sentence tenue, the voting rights would thus be automatically
restored upon completion of sentence, without an application.

Voting registration would be automatic, one time, at birth and
subject to begin at the age of eighteen, with no renewal, just as
an address update, and a verification, for county/tax matters.

In order to maximize the opportunity for anyone to vote, then
all elections should be held on a weekend, or thus by a holiday.

Real reform would likewise be required for candidate spending
levels and/or independents having equal & fair access to all of
the ballots and/or any debates. No exceptions, or as any limit
by numbers. Democracy does not mandate just for a two-party
system of elected officials, nor does the Constitution write such.

"Bush Plan to Limit Class Action Suits Moving Fast"

Efforts to curb class action lawsuits advanced Thursday
as backers of legislation pushed by the Bush administration
and the business community foiled initial attempts to alter a
carefully crafted compromise.

The Senate Judiciary Committee left intact language that
would send many class action lawsuits from state courts
into federal court, despite an attempt by Democrats to use
the bill as a vehicle to raise federal judges' pay.

The committee approved the overall bill on a 13-5 vote, and
the Republican-controlled Senate will take it up next week.

Supporters will try to get the legislation to a GOP-dominated
House that has agreed to support the bill if...not substantially
changed.

"We have a very sensitive agreement with the House of
Representatives on this bill, and if there are amendments
it may jeopardize the acquiescence of the House on our bill,"
said Senate Judiciary Chairman Arlen Specter, R-Pa.

Senators who support the bill say greedy lawyers make more
money from class action lawsuits than the actual victims and
that attorneys sometimes threaten companies with lawsuits
just to extort quick financial settlements.

"That system is broken and it needs fixing," said Sen.
Tom Carper, D-Del. "There are too many instances
where consumers are getting very little or nothing from
their settlements, while companies are not being forced
to change the way they do business."

Supporters already are pressing senators to leave the bill
alone, and Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn., and
Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., have agreed
to not support major amendments.

And House Republican leaders will make sure the
legislation receives a warm welcome there if it is not
substantially changed, lawmakers said Wednesday.

But just in case something happens to the Senate
compromise, House Republicans reintroduced their
own bill Wednesday, which they say is tougher than
the Senate version.

"If the Senate compromise agreement falls though,
then the House is ready to move forward with its
legislation," said Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va.

Opponents of the bill, which would shunt the majority
of class action suits to federal instead of state courts,
said it was aimed at helping businesses escape
multimillion-dollar judgments for their wrongdoing
and would hurt lawyers trying to litigate those cases.

"It benefits the special interests, but I don't see how it
benefits the citizens of individual states,'' said Sen. Patrick
Leahy of Vermont, D-Vt., who tried to get the committee
to add the judges' pay provision.

Federal courts are assumed to be less likely to issue
multimillion-dollar verdicts against big corporations.

Opponents have acknowledged that the legislation will likely
be approved by Congress this year, despite their complaints.

"This is a bad idea whose time has apparently come," said
Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del.

Under the Senate proposal, class action lawsuits in which the
primary defendant and more than one-third of the plaintiffs
were from the same state would still be heard in state court.

But if fewer than one-third of the plaintiffs were from the
same state as the primary defendant, the case would go to
federal court.

Also, at least $5 million would have to be at stake for a class
action lawsuit to be heard in federal court.

Under that configuration, it has more than enough support to
beat a filibuster in the Senate, with Democrats such as Carper,
Charles Schumer of New York and Herb Kohl of Wisconsin
serving as sponsors.

The House legislation is retroactive, which means it would
knock into federal court every pending case that meets
criteria set by the legislation.

Rep. Lamar Smith, R-Texas, said the retroactively provision
would prevent trial lawyers from rushing into court to try to
beat the effective date of the legislation.

SEATTLE [-] A day after they were named in an
anti-spam lawsuit by the Texas attorney general,
Microsoft Corp. filed suit against a 22-year-old
college student and his business partner. [?]

Microsoft today sued University of Texas student
Ryan Pitylak and Mark Trotter, claiming they sent
tens of millions of deceptive spam e-mails over
Microsoft networks. [M_soft now own's the i-net?]

Trotter is Pitylak's 40-year-old business partner
from Encinitas, Calif.

Microsoft helped the Texas attorney general by
providing more than 20,000 e-mails that were
captured in their trap accounts, Microsoft
spokeswoman Erin McGhee said.

An attorney for Pitylak and Trotter has said
her clients worked to make sure the e-mails
were legal.

The Texas lawsuit, filed Thursday,
seeks millions of dollars for violations
of the federal Controlling Assault of Non-
Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act of
2003, known as the CAN-SPAM Act.

The act made it illegal to send uninvited
e-mails that could mislead recipients.
Aaron Kornblum, Microsoft's Internet
safety enforcement attorney, said
the company contends that Pitylak
and Trotter violated Washington state's
anti-spam and consumer protection laws
by misleading consumers.

The lawsuit filed in federal court in
Seattle is the company's 89th anti-spam
suit in the United States, he said.

"These actions are very important for
(Microsoft) in that we're trying to
change the economics of spam, trying
to impose real costs on spammers both
legally and financially," he said.

Spammers pay little but benefit greatly,
he said.

"The costs of this business are borne by
consumers because this mail is interfering
with their business day, and by Internet
service providers who are required to
transmit and deliver it," he said.

Microsoft must spend extra money on
equipment, people and technology to
handle spam. In addition, he said,
customers complain to the company
about it.

Microsoft did not specify damages
in its lawsuit, but Kornblum said
penalties under state law could be
$1,000 per e-mail.

WASHINGTON, Jan 10 (Reuters) - A new report from
the National Academy of Sciences raises by 20 times
the amount of rocket fuel pollution in drinking water
considered "safe," but environmentalists on Monday
accused the government of influencing the report's findings.

The environmental group Natural Resources Defense Council
challenged the report even before it was issued, saying the
authors had been influenced by the Pentagon and defense
contractors and it had evidence to prove it.

The pollutant from rocket fuel, a chemical called perchlorate,
can affect thyroid function.

There are no federal limits on how much is safe
but independent groups have said the chemical
could affect developing babies.

The Academy's National Research Council, which
advises the government on scientific and environmental
matters, was asked by the Department of Defense, NASA
and other agencies to review evidence that perchlorate in
drinking water or food crops was harmful and if so, how much
was safe. Its report says people could drink up to up to 0.0007
milligrams per kilogram of body weight without harming even
the most sensitive populations -- about 20 times more than the
'reference dose' proposed by the U.S. Environmental Protection.

"The most recent EPA risk assessment, published in 2002,
proposes a daily reference dose of 0.00003 milligrams
per kilogram of body weight, which the agency said would
correspond to a drinking-water concentration of 1 part per
billion based on certain assumptions about body weight
and daily water consumption," the Academy noted.

It also said that although there is clear evidence the chemical
can dampen thyroid function, leading to a serious condition
called hypothyroidism, there was not enough evidence to show
it could lead to thyroid cancer, as the EPA has suggested.

"Scientists at the EPA, in state agencies, and in academia
have all concluded that very low levels of perchlorate threaten
the health of babies," said NRDC scientist Jennifer Sass.

"Scientists should not be strong-armed by unqualified, partisan
bureaucrats and corporate polluters to skew the evidence."

The NRDC said federal agencies had tried to influence the
report's conclusions and published documents that it said
showed just how extensive the government's attempts were.

"The Defense Department's job is to protect Americans,
not threaten our health, but these documents show that
it is conspiring with its contractors and the White House
to twist the science and avoid cleaning up a chemical that
threatens our children's health," said NRDC lawyer Erik Olson.

"We've never seen such a brazen campaign to pressure
the National Academy of Sciences to downplay the hazards
of a chemical, but it fits the pattern of this administration
manipulating science at the expense of public health," the
NRDC said.

White House and EPA officials were not available for comment.

The National Academy of Sciences report said perchlorate had
been discovered in 35 states and more than 11 million people
have "perchlorate in their drinking water at concentrations
of 4 parts per billion or higher."

Children living near the world's oldest space launch station
suffer from high rates of hormonal problems and blood
disorders.

The rates of disease close to the Baikonur Cosmodrome
in Kazakhstan have more thandoubled in some cases, the
journal Nature reports.

The Siberian study, which has not been published but was
leaked to Nature, was rejected by the Russian space agency.

In the study, researchers said unburned hydrazine fuel, which
is released during the early stages of take-off, was to blame.

Fabio Caramelli, an engineer at the European Space Research
and Technology Center, said the fuel was "nasty and toxic".

"A tablespoon of hydrazine in a swimming pool would kill anyone
who drank the water," Caramelli said.

According to BBC News, the launch facility - which Russia now
rents from Kazakhstan - was built in the 1950s as a missile
testing facility but is now one of the world's largest launch sites.

It is the embarkation point for missions to the International Space
Station now and, in 1961, Yuri Gagarin made history by becoming
the first man to orbit the Earth after taking-off from the facility.

Sergey Zykov, from Vector, the State Research Center of Virology
and Biotechnology in Novosibirsk, the capital of Siberia, led the
team which looked at the effect of the fuel on 1,000 children in the
country's Altai Republic, which lies in the path of fuel contamination
from the rockets.

Children from the worst affected areas were up to twice as likely
to require medical attention during 1998 to 2000 compared to the
records of 330 children from unpolluted areas.

Zykov told Nature he had discussed the problem with officials
from Rosaviakosmos, the Russian space agency, but they
had a negative attitude to studies conducted outside their
agency.

With a media now at full spin and information out that
the Bush Administration has been paying individuals to
speak positive things their programs (i.e., mislead or lie)
a second term can only bring less hope/more problems.

This administration now has zero credibility with citizens
here and abroad. Not to mention the other world nations.

And this is by their own party's doing. The RNC/GOP.

First power was grabbed in the 2000 election. Legal
action, not election, selected an individual less than
able to protect & serve this country. Records clearly
show that by past performance (i.e., National Guard)
- any required personal service was less than agreed.

Meaning that Bush took an oath, but then just took off.

Did not do his duty, dis-obeyed orders and dis-honored
the uniform of then National Guard of the United States.

Likewise, prior to September 11, 2001 with reasonable
and a credible intelligence warning of a pending attack,
or the very likely possibility of, went on vacation instead.

Instead of just having taken a few extra hours for review
and insure that the nation's national air protection system
was in place, working properly, and ready to go on notice.

Contrary to logic, and common sense, has wasted a large
amount of money in order to gain favor in certain circles.

Meaning the looting of the national surplus under the 'guise
of a tax-cut method. Even while the economy was slowing.

Not to mention the use of questionable closed-door means
in order to pass purely partisan legislature, also in-order to
gain additional political favors via corporations & business.

With this administration, this country has now been lead,
kicking & screaming, to the edge of a dark hole and with
the start of a second-term, is about to be pushed over it.

No chance of peace in Middle-East until Prime Minister Ariel Sharon resigns.

Ariel Sharon is Prime Minister of Israel. However, no one cause
is ever worthly if individuals are called upon for self-destruction.

Likewise, deaths of children on either side is equally wrong, not
right for either side. Neither does rocks equal rockets. Nor does
bombs out weight tanks and planes. If your country is war-like
then it's at war with itself -- then others. U.S. not excluded. No
lasting peace has ever been born out of death-for-death means.

If Sharon really wanted peace & a free neighbor, it would happen
tomorrow. Likewise, if Hamas wanted their family's & friend's to
be safe in their own country -- it could happen tomorrow. There's
no salvation, under either's faith for what is now happening period.

Only the sadness & sorrow of death for both sides. Shame on both

Israel cuts Palestinian contacts

* Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has ordered a freeze
on all contacts with the Palestinians until their newly elected
leader acts against militants. *

The announcement comes after militants killed six Israelis at
a Gaza Strip crossing point on Thursday night.

The attack was a blow to Mahmoud Abbas, who was elected on
Sunday amid hopes he could promote new moves toward peace.

After his election, Mr Sharon called Mr Abbas to congratulate
him and said he hoped to meet the new leader "soon".

But on Friday hopes for a speedy meeting appeared to be
dashed.

"Israel informed international leaders today that there will
be no meetings with Abbas until he makes a real effort to
stop the terror," Mr Sharon's spokesman Assaf Shariv said.

A Palestinian cabinet minister, Saeb Erekat, confirmed the news.
"We call on the Israelis to resume a meaningful peace process and
dialogue because this is the only way to break the vicious cycle of
violence," Mr Erekat said.

Joint responsibility for Thursday's raid was claimed by three
Palestinian groups, including Hamas and the al-Aqsa Martyrs'
Brigades, which has links with Mr Abbas's Fatah movement.

Three Palestinian gunmen were killed in the attack at Karni,
the main crossing point for food and vital supplies into the Gaza
Strip, home to 1.3 million Palestinians.

Mr Abbas, the successor to the late Palestinian leader Yasser
Arafat, said the bombing and shooting raid at Karni, as well as
Israeli military actions, "do not benefit peace".

He had been hoping to persuade militant groups to agree to a
ceasefire.

Israeli raids in the Gaza Strip over the past week have also left
several Palestinians dead, including a man driving a pregnant
neighbour to hospital.

The news that contacts have been cut is a huge setback for the
new leader - who is not even sworn into office until Saturday -
says the BBC's James Reynolds in Jerusalem.

Israel has made clear that it will resume contacts if Mr Abbas
confronts and reins in the gunmen - but Mr Abbas has based
his tactics on talking.

His strategy is to talk to the gunmen to try and co-opt them
rather than confront them, and to talk to Israel to try to draw
concessions from them.

But this strategy cannot work if ties are cut off with one side,
says our correspondent.

for weapons of mass destruction -- cited by President Bush as
justification for war -- has abandoned its long and fruitless hunt,
U.S. officials said on Wednesday. The 1,700-strong Iraq Survey
Group, responsible for the hunt, last month wrapped up physical
searches for weapons of mass destruction, and it will now gather
information to help U.S. forces in Iraq win a bloody guerrilla war,
officials said.

"I felt like we would find weapons of mass destruction ... like
many -- many here in the United States, many around the
world," Bush told ABC's Barbara Walters, according to excerpts
from an interview airing on Friday.

Bush said "we need to find out what went wrong in the
intelligence gathering," and that the invasion was "absolutely"
worth it even if there were no weapons of mass destruction.

Bush and other U.S. officials cited the grave threat posed by
Iraq's chemical and biological weapons and Baghdad's efforts
to acquire a nuclear arms capability as a central justification
for the March 2003 invasion. No such weapons have been found.

"You can only search so many places for WMD," said a defense
official, who added that the ISG continues to review documents
and interview people knowledgeable about deposed President
Saddam Hussein's arms programs for possible leads.

Charles Duelfer, the CIA special adviser who led the ISG's
weapons search, has returned home and is expected next
month to issue a final addendum to his September report
concluding that prewar Iraq had no WMD stockpiles...

White House spokesman Scott McClellan said he was not
holding out the possibility these weapons would turn up in
Iraq.

But he added that "based on what we know today, the
president would have taken the same action" -- war with Iraq
-- in order to "confront a threat posed by Saddam Hussein.

"And now what is important is that we need to go back and
look at what was wrong with much of the intelligence that we
had accumulated over a 12-year period and that our allies had
accumulated over that same period of time and correct any
flaws," McClellan said.

as others suspected of contracting the virus.

HANOI (AFP) - Vietnam officially confirmed that two young
boys had died from bird flu as state media said two other people
are suspected of contracting the virus.

"We assert that there have been three people infected with
the H5N1 virus since December 16, of whom, two had died," the
daily Lao Dong newspaper quoted Deputy Head of the ministry's
legal department, Tran Duc Long as saying on Saturday.

On Thursday, the government said that only a 16-year-old girl
from southern Tay Ninh province, who is in critical condition in
Ho Chi Minh City, had been infected with the H5N1 strain of the
bird flu virus. The two boys, aged six and nine, were also from
the south and died on December 30 and January 4.

Their deaths brought the total toll from bird flu in Vietnam since
late 2003 to 22.

Another state-run newspaper, Tuoi Tre, said a further two
suspected bird flu patients, an 18-year-old girl and a 65-year-old
man, were being treated.

Both are from Tien Giang in the south and are being treated in
Ho Chi Minh City's Hospital for Tropical Diseases, it said.

The country is implementing drastic measures to prevent bird
flu spreading, especially in the Mekong river delta provinces.

Neighbouring China Saturday said it was taking emergency
measures to prevent bird flu spreading into its Yunnan province,
which shares a 1,200 kilometre (750 mile) border with Vietnam.

Yunnan has established a 30-kilometre-wide "immune protection
zone" along the border and set up disinfecting stations for all
vehicles and personnel crossing the frontier, the Chinese Xinhua
news agency said.

At least 29,000 birds have been culled in Vietnam since
December to try to contain the disease, according to local officials.

Next month's upcoming Lunar New Year festivities are proving a
headache for officials with the demand for poultry consumption
expected to boom, said the Agriculture Ministry's Animal Health
Department Director Bui Quang Anh.

Prime Minister Phan Van Khai has ordered a ban on the
transportation of sick poultry from affected areas to keep
outbreaks in check and asked concerned authorities to step
up their vigilance, particularly in regions along the border
with China.

The government said in October that it had brought bird flu
under control. It had made a similar announcement on March 30
but later admitted that the declaration had been premature after
three people, including two children, died in August after being
infected with the H5N1 virus.

International experts said avian influenza has entrenched itself
in much of Asia and is unlikely to disappear anytime soon.

More than 120 million birds were killed or culled in two huge
outbreaks throughout Asia last year of the H5N1 avian flu which
has so far claimed at least 34 lives.

Bird flu, or avian influenza, is a Type A influenza virus

that affects mostly birds and occasionally pigs.

The virus can pass from bird to bird when it is inhaled

and from contact with infected droppings.

Contaminated equipment, infectious particles carried

on the feet and bodies of animals, and migratory

waterfowl can spread the disease. Since December 2003,

a highly pathogenic strain has devastated dozens of

Asian domestic poultry stocks, and several human

infections have been reported.

According to the CDC, which offers a basic fact sheet on the
virus, bird flu is especially pernicious to humans because we
lack the necessary immune protections against the disease.

All influenza viruses are dangerous because they are prone to
change; the Hong Kong flu pandemic of 1968 killed 34,000
people in the United States. The World Health Organization's

A man escaped unscathed after a boar chased him around a hospital parking lot in southwestern Poland, the hospital spokesman said Thursday.

Cameras monitoring hospital grounds in the city of Legnica captured a boar who approached the hospital's main entrance and then crossed the path of an unidentified man before dawn on Wednesday.

When the man tried to flee, the boar pursued him around a parked car for a few minutes until it apparently got bored, Rafal Pilch told The Associated Press. "The man was taken by surprise and after a moment of consternation started to run," Pilch said. "The boar ran after him and chased him for a few minutes around a parked car and then left."

The man did not need hospital treatment. Pilch said he did not know where the boar came from, but it could have been one of two tame boars owned by a nearby inn specializing in traditional Polish cuisine.

REVIEW

In a recent draft review about this Department of Homeland
Security, it revealed that federal grants for improving security
had been poorly coordinated & blamed the staff for problems.

More like a management problem, as Homeland Security is
one of the highest funded federal departments today. So a
claim of inadequate staffing, as to say, may be just a stretch.

However, and not surprisingly, the report re-enforces federal
management issues, or concerns of many, about our security.

Adding just another layer of federal management under one
director only makes the department slower and top heavier.

The (AP) reported today (December 29th, 2004) that;

"...Homeland Security Depart-ment has allowed federal
grants for improving security at America's ports to be
spent on low priority problems rather than the most
serious vulnerabilities...".

Noting that in "...a draft report to be re-leased next month,
Homeland Security Department Inspec-tor General [Name]
says port security spending should be governed by the most
pressing priorities rath-er than local politics." And blamed,

"...Inadequate staff-ing and poor coordination." Adding then
that "...the department's port security grant program needs
better oversight to make sure projects that get money meet
security goals." Meaning, some form of review/accountability.

Inspector, as noted, further concluded that the "("...DHS does
not have a strong grant evaluation pro-cess in place by which
to ad-dress post-award administra-tion issues, including mea-
suring progress in accom-plishing DHS' grant objec-tives,")...
[as the (AP) reportly] said in a recent summary of the report."

COMMENT

No doubt now questioned by the RNC/GOP's press secretary
as to the motive and/or intent of having such oversight for this

With Bush on vacation in Texas until the after New Year,

Not unlike many of his concerned fellow Americans, former
"...US President Bill Clinton has called for the co-ordination
of relief efforts in response to the Asian quake, as aid starts
to flood into the region. ("It is really important that somebody
takes the lead in this,") he told the BBC's Today programme
on [12/28/04]." Clinton speaking as one experienced citizen.

Noting that the "...UN has already begun a huge relief effort
to help the 11 nations affected...". Aided by other countries.

"Millions of people are homeless as a result of the tremor
and sea surges, and the disaster zone is now threatened

"About 40,000 people have been killed and many others
are still missing." With totals expected to continue rising.

"A plane chartered by the UK charity Oxfam is carrying
27 tonnes of water tanks, pumps and taps to Sri Lanka
and Indonesia, to set up emergency drinking water systems
and latrines." The major key & element in disease prevention.

"The US aid organization Care said it was already distributing
food to 14,000 Sri Lankans and that it was preparing a ("major
operation")." With reports of US dollar aid & Pentagon support.

COMMENT

With the U.S. national debt at historical and record highs, it
remains to be seen how much the United States can afford.

And more importantly, how much the RNC/GOP will actually
commit to any UN headed relief project or program for help.

Especially since this type of disaster may actually be related
to the over-all global warming problem or, as such, relative to.

Or as we all know it (pork-spending), who likewise by
deed, Sen. John McCain does support -- despite past
campaigning promises to the contrary. McCain is OK
with a war costing millions of debt dollars and 1,000's
of American lives. Plus and in fact, wants to escalate it.

In the event of any election and to decide otherwise, it would be

UNCONSTITUTIONAL for any Court to block votes, or to stop

votes from being counted. Or to decide when, or if, or why count.

OPINION

It is as clear as it can be made that under the United States
Constitution each and every Citizen has a right to vote. That
right can't be legislatively or judicially denied, or taken away.

By right means that any vote, by whatever method including
just an [x] mark beside a name handwritten on just a scrap
piece of paper. Neither party has the right to deny any such
vote, or for that matter, no right to legally challenge as vote.

And as such, the Courts do not have the legal authority to
even decide whether any vote will -- or will not be counted.

Because judges are appointed by elected officials. Not by
an act of God or some alien independent force. It is clearly
the most profound conflict of interest for any justice, either
general or supreme, to grant oneself over the hand that did
in fact, appoint that self to their position, directly or indirect.

A vote is cast and, a vote, is to be counted.

Each has a receipt that then is to be attached to the total
summary count sheet. Imagine, one vote equals one vote.

No non/paper touch-screen voting can ever allowed, or under
any circumstances in a democratic society of law, to be counted
as a legal valid vote, unless it has a paper receipt, no exceptions.

No more than any advocate would ever allow any purchase at
a store to occur without a paper receipt that showed the item
and amount cost as paid, and then change returned, if any, or
for the method of payment. Never would be allowed by anyone.

Yet votes since FY-2000 do not seem to count the same as a
$1.00 retail or grocery purchase in the eyes of those now trying
to block vote counts. To question vote counts, or to file a action.

Especially by those that are now asking a court to decide, by a
method called, not counting all votes cast, or some not counted.

Only made worse by a court deciding vote count of any election.

What occurs as a result of any opinion, then determines election.

So anyone claiming otherwise, or mandating such, is a breaker
of the legal intent of the Constitution & not protecting any voter
right to cast a vote in any election that their I.D. allows for, in an
area that the election covers. I.D., meaning any valid form of it.

No, not by any make shift/dated voter registration list, or by any
method attempting to take that right away, rather than protect.

Especially applies to all of those evil people trying win an election,
by any means or method of adding to the count, by not counting.

Means the same as just plain vote stealing, allowing or subtracting
of by just not counting, whatever reason and by whichever group.

Particularly not by an opinion blocking any such counting, instead
of allowing that all votes cast are to be counted & to be recorded.

All of the time, period. Meaning in all elections, both big and small.

Today's definition of a Moderate politician:
a conservative that's too liberal to admit it.

For example, moderates never hold any such
majority in anything. Especially the Congress.

In order to pass any legislature with their own
party, either one, they have to be conservative.

The major exception is in regards to funding
or regulations regarding lobbying. Then they
are not conservative, moderate, or a liberal.

They become radicals, extremists. Meaning a
lot more spending, (e.g. wasting,) for support
of just about anything any lobbyist is wanting.

While Democrats do it well and probably do
have more moderates, than conservatives,
the Re'publicans have become the masters.

All in just twenty, short, extremely costly
years. Now debt plied upon debt. War to.

Not only in terms of taxpayer's money.

Voting citizen's in poverty too.

Homelessness worker's as well.

With church goer's not exempt.

Just right across the street from the
White House. Or the people's house.

You will never see a tour of park people
walking through the halls of Congress.

Nor will they soon sip any egg-nog within
the confinds of any Presidential Oval Office.

Or will they likely sit in wonder at all the
historical marvels found in court rooms
across America. By candles, or by a tree.

Instead, they will sit in fear of imprison.

They will be (not-seen) by those across
the walkway, or the blocked-off streets.

And they will certainly not receive shelter
from any public assistance. Maybe private.

Sorry Dorothy, no moderates in Kansas.

Especially, not a grinch like Mr. Bob Dole.

Moderates say, the government doesn't
work that way. We're just a compromise
away from a solution. Now at 20-years &
counting. More like a roadmap to bank-
rupting a country under a political mount
of debt. But, then it's Christmas, so we'll try
be nice, say no more, pay tell, or nevermore.

Instead, you will find the politic' likes of a
group in denial. Meaning now in dysfunction.

And in order to function, as a major minority
they must always still support all conservative
social issues. Not the moderate ones, or other.

Especially now, pending the cutting of help
for the poor, the less fortunate, the disabled
and the handicapped, especially our veterans.

Which by our honest Christians, is now okay.

And instead, they must as well support
the big-liberal spending programs and
the excessive, or rich, tax eliminations.

Or uphold some moral position while
living just the opposite life style. Taking
more and giving less. While speaking
one thing and voting another. Claiming
some kind of necessary political comprise.

While supported by a majority of nothing.

Either in principle, or by ethical founding.

Then using legislature as a club against
legal rights, judges of principles, and any
person that may have been seriously hurt.

Thus protecting the large insurance
corporations, careless & bad doctors
or lobbyists, by action, just stealing us
in the night. Weak environment records.

So the next time the so-called moral
and conservative majority of fantasy
sends out one of their mod' puppets
to parrot a few words in their defense.

Just remember the last time you
went out and purchased anything.

Or a moderate item. It cost you more
than the last time you paid, or charged it.

And contained more air, than before too.

In other words, you just paid more for less.

That's why, we believe, that all moderate
politicians are just a conservative that is
too liberal to admit it. And/or just another
person in denial, or a political dysfunction.

Well, the word is out in the public media, after having
floated around in cyber-space for sometime. Ms. Ann
Coulter has an official, yes, "adams apple." A physical
attribute know only in medical science as part of the
male species. Sorry, Ann. But on national T.V., what
did you expect. Good job though, you wear it well. I
was confused for several years. And, after all, this
is American, land of freedom & opportunity. Be as
you be. Or whatever, as long as you're protected
by the Constitution. You know, that trash you do
like to burn. Maybe there's hope. Drudge always
was a host to have you, one on one, on late night.

After Mr. Kerik failed to vet his background, our
opinion, all resumes of the republicans are now
in question. For example, the present governor,
recall, out west. Anybody checked his real birth
certificate? Not the copy he provided for moving
here, several years ago? But, in the 'ole country.

Besides, since Arnold has launched a campaign
to amend Article 2, Clause 5 of the United States
U.S. Constitution that bars foreign usurpers from
becoming President. And we still have time, why
not re-check a few key points on his resume?

Morris also observed, "...there is one thing that makes the
electoral college undemocratic regardless of all the practical
considerations there may have been: electors are not bound
to vote according to the popular vote. They can vote as they
wish. And a few renegades have been doing just that again
and again in the past 50+ years...".

"In practice, however, electors can vote for anyone they want -
even for a candidate who didn't even run for office and thus did
not de[serve] any of the popular vote [and] not just a theoretical
possibility; it has already happened."

"While 28 states have passed laws [-- reference cite noted at; ]

workings of our American Democratic System than over 50% of
our registered voters. Not to mention the majority of all of our
citizens, also.]

Morris adds, "On the other hand, the founding fathers who opposed
democracy seemed to feel that the college would protect the country
from becoming all too Democratic." [Meaning protect from people]

"For instance, Alexander Hamilton, the main author of the
("Federalist Papers"), wrote of the college: [Hamilton was not for
the strong state, but for a even more strong federal government]"

"A small number of persons, selected by their fellow-citizens from
the general mass, will be most likely to possess the information
and discernment requisite to such complicated investigations.
Americans do not have direct elections for their president; rather,
they vote for the people who then vote for the president for them."

Morris, "While this may, at first glance, appear to be the same kind
of system used in many other democracies, in which the party that
receives a majority or a coalition of parties with a majority elects a
prime minister from its ranks, there are two major differences."

"First, it is not the US Congress that chooses the president, but a
completely separate body created solely for this purpose." [college]

"Remember: the founding fathers wanted a clear separation
between the executive and legislative." [And apparantly, between
the voters to]

"They [~ American's ~] wanted a president, [but go]t a prime
minister."

"The second difference is that the electors can vote as they wish,
regardless of the popular vote." [Meaning, second guess, or other]

"As James Madison wrote in 1823: [noting any electriol voting
change potential?]"

"Altho' generally the mere mouths of their Constituents, they may
be intentionally left sometimes to their own judgment, guided by
further [added: or another's choice and/or another's provided]
information."

Morris further notes, "In other words, when Americans vote for
the president they are only making nonbinding proposals."
[Wishes...in other words -- the one you wish to win the election]

Continuing with American History, "A brief history of the college
[:] The college had hardly been founded when the first chaos
occurred."

"Ironically, the first victim was an advocate of the college."
[Madison, fell first victum to his own projection]

"In 1808, 6 electors from New York refused to vote for James
Madison, giving their votes instead to a man named Clinton."
[not William J., but maybe 'funkadelic - George might have had
a connection to dissenting, even if only historically speaking.]

Anyhow James "Madison won anyway, which is why the event
has not exactly gone down in history." [Or, until now as we're
still addressing it.]

"In 1820, the college was at it once again. This time, we begin to
get a taste of how much the college was a gentleman's club."
[Now known as 'country-club set, or 'just the good ole' boys]

"James Monroe received all of the votes because no other party
had put up a candidate for the presidency, but a gentleman from
New Hampshire did the nation a favor and voted for John Quincy
Adams so that George Washington would be the only president to
have received a 100% majority." [Apparantly a 'cut towards Mr.
Monroe (Va.), more than a great praise for George Washington.]

Noting, "Incidentally, the three electors ("not voting") had passed
away between the popular vote and the electoral vote." [Which
still happens even today, or the possibility of it still remains as
such.]

Morris poses this question & observation, "Why have elections at
all if there's only one candidate? [Something happening more and
more today and appears to have no end in the near U.S.-future.]"

And, "A lot of Americans must have asked themselves the same
question...in 1824 elections did not even take place everywhere."
[Wonder now about something like this maybe by - 2008?]

"That didn't help matters much: when the electors convened,
they did not feel that there was a clear mandate from the people.
They thus voted for four candidates from the only remaining
party." [...a clear mandate...where have we heard that, this year
in fact, just days after the November 2nd, 2004 'public-voting.]

"No one won a majority, so the matter was referred to the House
of Rep[s.], which gave the election to John Quincy Adams."

Morris adds, "And you [American's] thought the proverbial fan
had been hit in 2000..." [We add now the hit of 2002 & pending
2006, maybe again -- if no corrections are make before hand.]

"Speaking of ("no one to run against"): the New York Times
reports that there was only one candidate for an office in many
states in 2004." [Likely the same in 2006 and probably 2008]

"For instance, in 75% of the races for the Senate in Arkansas,
73% in Florida, 70% in South Carolina, 62% in New Mexico, and
so forth."

"Overall, only seven incumbents from the House of Rep[s] (a total
of 440 seats) were not reelected. Incumbents are almost certain
to be reelected in the US because the districts or redrawn to
ensure this very outcome." [Texas, T. DeLay, & Virginia both...]

Again by Morris, "According to the New York Times, four of the
seven incumbents who were not reelected were Democrats from
Texas who had literally been cutout of their districts - a process
known as [political] gerrymandering." [Note, conditioned, RNC]

"In 2004, the Supreme Court [, Chief Justice William Rehnquist]
ruled [by a legal opinion] that {"political gerrymandering"} (as
opposed to {"racial gerrymandering"}) was not illegal." [Favoring
the -- political -party that, oddly enough, appointed him to the
Court, and promoted him Chief Justice of the Supreme & decided
the 2000 election as well -- by the -- infamous one vote margin.]

Morris, "Now let's jump ahead to 1876. We are skipping the Civil
War, but nothing much happened with the electoral college during
that time."

Recall, "In the meantime, the country was having real problems
remaining a union." [Now, kind of divided into distinct positions]

"And for its 100th birthday, the country celebrated with a
[then, or their vote/election] scandal: []"

"In Florida, Louisiana, and South Carolina, Republican voters
were apparently scared away from the polls, and everyone
spoke of fraud."

"(These states were incidentally also the only ones with federal
troops still stationed in them for Reconstruction.)" [Now, the U.S.
Patriot Act, or National Security issues...]

"According to the governors of these states, the Republican had
won the election, but the Democratic senates in these states
provided different figures for their candidate." [Still can't count,
or add votes, must be a traditional election time, U.S. math thing,
or now something that occurs each and every 2 years in U.S.]

"After Democrats in the US Senate threatened to filibuster the
Republican victory decided by a special ("Electoral Commission")
consisting - you guessed it - of a majority of Republicans, an
agreement was reached." [In other words, majority means the
compromise part is decided by them, agreement by no choice.]

"The Republicans could have the White House, but the South
would no longer be ("reconstructed")." [Which, should have
already been ended]

"... From 1880 to 1948, the Bible Belt voted Democratic, and
when this block finally disintegrated after 68 years the college
came back into the spotlight." [Which has historically been shown
to be the case in too many "electorical based" elections.]

"In 1948, an elector from Tennessee voted for the[n] Dixiecrat
Strom [died a honored GOP/RNC/Bush/Republican, but same
ole' bigot --] Thurmond." "It was a rebellion, not an honorable
act from the old gentleman's club...".

"The Democrats had reigned supreme in the South for some 70
years, but after 13 years of Roosevelt the party had become too
("liberal") for the South." [Too liberal then, too liberal now...]

Morris, "The Democrats would soon be calling for something
called ("civil rights")."

"Soon, they would force racial integration. Not exactly the kind of
thing [then] Southern whites were likely to take kindly to. But
[not ole'] Strom Thurmond, now there was a real Democrat from
the old days - a [con]man who knew that you might not be able to
leave the Union, but you could damn well see to it that it left you
alone. ("States' rights") was the ticket: the South knew how to
make its own laws, thank you very much, and the [U.S.] federal
government was to be as weak as possible." [Adding, weaking
those federal programs: like Social Security, now on the burner.]

"Here, we begin to fathom one of the greatest mysteries of US
culture and politics. As every child in the US knows, the first
[only] Republican president, Abraham Lincoln, freed the slaves.
He didn't mean to; he just wanted to save the Union, and the
industrial capitalism of the North did not work well with the
slavery-based agriculture of the South (not to mention the
attitudes of ornery slave masters)."

"So in 1862, shortly before the Emancipation Proclamation, he
[Lincoln, who we at the blog, took the real republican party to his
grave with him] wrote:[]"

"If there be those who would not save the Union unless they could
at the same time destroy slavery, I do not agree with them. My
paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not
either to save or to destroy slavery. If I could save the Union
without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by
freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing
some and leaving others alone I would also do that. What I do
about slavery, and the colored race, I do because I believe it helps
to save the Union; and what I forbear, I forbear because I do not
believe it would help to save the Union." [A republican believes
in union, this noble, if not flawed concept vanished with Lincoln.]

"Lincoln's Gen[.] William Sherman (of {"slash and burn"} fame)
promised the slaves 40 acres and a mule, but he was a general,
not a politician."

"The politicians would have none of it. All along, Republicans had
wanted to give blacks the same rights and opportunities as whites.
In other words, they wanted to exploit blacks just as they were
exploiting immigrants, not differently. The idea that a slave could
hardly become an informed citizen in a democracy overnight,
much less a successful entrepreneur - that was too academic for
the Republicans." [Now only academic at election time...]

"And the Democrats? [Morris] spent 22 years in the South.
There's a saying down there: ("The North loves the race and
hates the individual; the South hates the race and loves the
individual"). What does that mean? Well, during slavery lots of
white Southerners claimed that you couldn't just free blacks
because they would not be able to take care of themselves. And
anyway, they were well taken care of on the plantation. It may be
hard for many of my readers to imagine a grimmer cynicism, but
I assure you there is at least something to the first clause of that
Southern saying, for the North did nothing for blacks after they
had been freed. The North's ("love") of blacks was purely
philosophical, not practiced. [According to Morris's time here]
A little bit of this love for the individual did, however, eventually
bear fruit among the Democrats." [Noting the blog-usa votes
independent & is not registered to any major party, or the (2)]

"Some Southerners didn't take kindly to that and turned their
backs on their party- first, by trying to found a third party and
more recently by joining ranks with the Republicans...". [Where,
they still appear as the noted 'red-souther voters' of the GOP.]

[Which, by the way, is what the GOP/RNC/BUSH party is made
up of now. No more Lincoln(*) -- as they probably helped bury
him then, or when they then realized slaves would be freed,
which was helping northern industries & site now called Wall St.]

COMMENT:

Which returns us to the topic of today, that it's "Time to put an
end to the Electorial College & instead have Free, Fair, and Direct
Elections by the People..." of these United States. In order, to re-
establish that principle of "a more perfect union" with equal rights
and/or justice for all Americans.

Especially, the millions that have already died for what they
believed this country, America, really stood for -- and not just
how a "sum" had done.

This would be particually true at this time of Holy Season
& with our troops being put in harms way in other countries
-- for a democratic purpose not yet achieved, or truly put in
place by laws, in this America -- under the U.S. Constitution
-- and as our founding fathers -- along with the blood of all and
our great-great-great grandfathers fought for, and all principles
they died because of -- and died believing really mattered to us.

Intelligence: "GOP" same as "RNC" made up of "Re'publicans"

Welcome back, Grand-Old-Party (GOP) -- same as the
Republican National Committee (RNC) meaning that both
are the same group, or as the Bible wrote: [Re] 'publicans.

Regarding, National Security and/or Intelligence management.

It doesn't really matter if anything changes now about any of
intelligence agencies regarding how, or if, any information is
managed. Period. Because, good intelligence was available
prior-to the 9/11 attacks -- but it was not acted upon properly.

This means at the Senior most levels of any use. The NSA,
or the Office of the President of the United States. Our best
information was available to the top-chain of Command. As
now after all events of that day. Which has been noted as far
back, or as early as 1993 -- at least. Irag becomes seperate.

So really the only changes that actually need to change is
we return to the "position" of the intelligence departments at
[09-10/12-01] and start 'firing' or 'resigning' those individuals
that 'willfully' ignored pending threat information, or was not
stead-fast in backing their positions. Or allowed some others
outside the 'CIA agency to direct, or redirect information. And
the same regarding intel supported by domestic info of - 'FBI.

Meaning that enough information was available to this "GOP
Administration on, or about, FY-2000 and as such, was then
increased and/or added to for the remaider and into the 2001.

Meaning the last in the 'Chain-of-Command did not take the
threat information (serious) and/or has not learned from those
mistakes. Which have been repeated in Afganistan & now Iraq.

The (CIA) is not a (domestic-chartered agency) and that is not
now needed -- other than wrong-headed desire, to allow it one.

For such, and for same, the FBI is Domestic, and only in usual
situations -- should it be allowed to become an international one.

The real intelligence-problem and there is a large, growing one.

Has been the use, as primary, intelligence information gleaned
from both the Department of Defense (DoD) and/or by use of the
agency known as the "Pentagon." Both of which have cross, or
as opposing purposes with our domestic intelligence agencies,
either the FBI -- or in stituation when the CIA has provided intel
to the FBI and/or the present GOP/RNC Admisistration -- who
mades the final decision -- when and/or "IF" to act, or to defend.

It's really that simple. The hard "slog" is getting the info to table.

on 9/11 -- regardless of which political party you may support and
regardless of whether you are in support of this piece of legislation.

All we need now is the same thing that we needed on 9/10 -- people
to do the job they were hired, or appointed to do -- or suffer a review
and/or firing, or resigning, for not doing even a minual level required
performance for their job, or as decribed by their departmental letter
of "employee/employment-position-expectations, etc., duties/oath.".
